I'm 64, still working:-[, but I do find time for my favorite hobbies; shooting, reloading and gun collecting. I collect Finnish, Russian, and Swedish rifles from the WWI-WWII era. I also collect Remington Model 8s, WSLs, and Remington pumps (14, 14 1/2, and 25). My collection of these is modest totaling about 20, but I really enjoy finding and shooting them. My most recent find was a Remington Model 8 in 35 Rem that had been very professionally sporterized by adding an offset Weaver K4 60-B scope in a Weaver Detachable Side Mount, and a thick cheek-piece that aligns the shooting eye perfectly to the scope. I normally do not buy sporterized rifles, but this one was/is so 'beautiful' that it had to come home with me.
I live in No Alabama and shoot at the Swan Creek Wildlife Management Area public range.

Stan,
Hello and welcome to the forum. I live in SE Tennessee near Chattanooga, so we probably aren't too distant neighbors. Your Model 8 sounds real nice. I also usually prefer original stuff, but have been beguiled by a well done sporter a time or two.

Welcome aboard. I'm in the SE corner of AL (Dothan) I really like the Remington pump rifles, too. My 141 is one of my favorite rifles. I would love to have a model 25.
