Howdy Folks I guess I'm like everybody else, I saw a post by Hadrada55 on another site and followed it home. I'm thrilled to see this site thanks to Walt for setting it up and if Richard git's the Model 8 forum back up its going to be double the fun. Now for the dirty details My name's Bill,I live near San Diego, Ca. I'm into cowboy action shooting and especially the Wild Bunch matches. I'm more of an accumulator than a collector I tend to like guns that are older and a bit different. I love Model 8's And Model 11's and I also admit to having a thing for Webley's And about anything else that go's bang. I'm glad to be here, Thanks a bunch Walt 14delta

I really like you Model 8, Model 11 and Webley. Sure makes "Wild Bunch" version of Cowboy Action Shooting look fun. Got to try it one day. One of my favorite movies is "The Professionals" with Lee Marvin and Burt Lancaster. Very much in the vein of "Wild Bunch". I believe someone in Hollywood should make us a movie with a Model 8 in it.

Thanks for the warm welcome back, It's just like old home week. In my travels I ran across a model 14 in 25 at a gun shop in central California it was only $198 and the action was as smooth as any I've run across, The outside wasn't too bad worn but not abused, But (and it was a big BUT) the bore was worse than horrible there was a 1" area that showed rifling the rest was deeeep pits and crud. I had my credit card out and was ready to buy it until I looked at the barrel, I was a little disappointed but sure glad I looked. Mitch- 41 mag is fun to shoot and real easy to load for, It can be loaded light for targets or up to the Omygawd level if you enjoy pain. I had a S&W 57 for a while which was a good accurate gun, I now have a S&W model 58 which is fun but a handful. I've been trying to use up some of the old ammo I had for the M57 but its loaded pretty warm and the lighter M58 is not real comfortable to shoot with it, The next batch I load is going to be a lot lighter. Walt- Cowboy Action is defiantly fun and now that we throw in specialty matches like the Wild Bunch or one that we call the 45 Auto Posse( Regular SASS match where all targets are engaged with a 45 auto) it makes it a lot more interesting. I'm the match director for the match were putting on in a couple weeks, Most of our shooters will be doing a regular SASS match but we will also form a posse of 15 to 20 shooters to do it with stock 45 autos, The rifle targets will be at 35 to 50 yards, The pistol and shotgun targets at 7 to 15 yards, Some of the shotgun targets weigh up to 30 pounds these are knock down targets that have to go down to count so dink loads won't work, I think its going to be a blast . 14delta

Bill,
Welcome to the forum. Most of the old gang have "relocated" to this new hangout and I'm glad you have joined us. I like your photos, and I'm a fan of the grand old Model 11 shotgun as well as our beloved Model 8/81 rifles.
