Hi A few years ago I aquired a 1910 in 401 wsl that had a really bad bore /pitted and the rifle was mostly complete .I did look for a barrel but none around . As it did function after I got it cleaned up and parts installed ,it had a tragically large group/pattern due to the bore and chamber . I tore it down again and had the barrel rebore and rifled to accept .429/.430 bullets by our only canadian that still does this . When the barrel returned from the rebore ,then made up a reamer to work with the 44 am case and chambered . Did not have to do any mods to the bolt face ejector or the extractor as it all works with the case Had to polish out the mag inside to allow smoother feeding and removed some material on the lhs of the mag well . Cases for the 44amp are redially avialiable from starline and Iam using a barnes 225 grXTB bullet with 20gr lil gun powder .The end result was a fully functioning 44am grouping 1 1/2 " at 50 yards with no pressure signs as both cartridges are running similar pressures Will have to admit it was kinda a pleasant suprise that no real reworking had to be done to function with the new chambering the bottom is the 44 and the other pic is bore difference

My 1910 is no tack driver, but I worked too hard to get everything needed to load for 401SL. If you shoot much, you will probably recoup expenses just from the component savings. Are you interested in parting with your spare .401 barrel?

don't think it will be cost effective to ship back into the US with the papper and fees from canada
