i just killed my first deer with my vintage 1929 model 8 in 32 rem. i was on the ground watching a fire lane. at almost dark a doe steped out at about 60 yds. and started walking across. with my rifle raised i gave a soft whistle and she stoped and i squeezed the trigger. on the crack of the shot her legs went out from under her. instant kill, the bullet entered the front shoulder and made a quarter size exit behind the ribs on the off side. it was a quarting shot. i used a 170gr. rcbs cast with 50/50 soft lead and ww combo. with 30gr. imr4895 and cci200 primer. ;D

no pic. it was thursday. this rifle has amazing accuracy with open sights. i also have a 1952 32 win. special in a marlin 336 that is just as accurate. there is something about the 32 and accuracy that has to be experienced to know what i mean. my marlin has a lyman reciever sight, i can hit golf balls at 75yds with it. the model 8 is just as accutate. i love this cal. i killed a small buck last year with the 336 at about 70yds. with that same cast bullet. he took about 3 jumps and fell dead.
