I could have sworn I registered here about three years ago when I had a .30 Remington Model 8 in my mitts, but could find no trace of myself on the boards, so here I am again! The .30 moved on, but I recently found a Model 8 made in 1908 in .35 Remington. She's missing her rear sight, and I found out at the shooting range that the firing pin is either broken or absent, but I'll get her up and running one way or another. Also have to mention my great fortune at finding a very nice Model 14 pump in .25 Remington.

Good to have you oregonbill...and if you've been here before, good to have you back. I hope you can get that .35 back in shooting condition. There is lots of good information and good people sources of information here and on the Great 8 and 81 forum.

welcome back OregonBill. Sounds like you picked a great rifle, I've got a 1908 Model 8 in 35Rem as well. Still shoots real good. Hope you get yours up and running just in time for some late deer season!
