Howdy to all. I am a new member and just dicovered this site today. I'm in my mid-50's but firearms have been my passionate hobby since I was about age five. It all started with the family tradition of hunting the deep Minnesota woods. I found every aspect of this fascinating. As a very young boy I would watch the hunters leave the house and quickly disappear into the dark woods. I would wait as they would trickle back throughout the day - constantly scanning the windows for patches of red (didn't have blaze orange back then). Listening to the stories about what they saw, what they shot, what they missed - it was all great. An early fascination was the variety of rifles used. My Dad used an '86 Winchester in .33, some had Savage levers and then there were those truly fascinating M08 and M81 Rem Remingtons. In my late teens I bought a M08 in .35 (still have it) and took many deer with it. I have mainly collected a variety of antique and vintage lever rifles (e.g. Marlin, Winchester, Savage, Burgess, Bullard, Whitney-Kennedy and others). I also collect vintage bolt action rifles, and others including various vintage slide action and semi-automatic rifles. I've owned quite a few Winchester M05's, 07's and 10's along with a variety of Remington O8's and 81's in various grades. I have one Standard Arms Model G and have a Standard Arms .50 Caliber Camp Carbine on the way. I've had my eyes open for one of these for over 30 years and came very close on two that came available in the last two years. That's a snapshot anyway. Neat site you have here.
