This looked like an interesting off-beat forum. I am a gun crank of the old school and have a penchant for strange or lesser known firearms. I have been gunsmithing for the past quarter of a century, not to make a living, but because I love working on stuff. My real job is working with Naval guns that start at 25MM and go up to 5". It all started with a conversation with a friend about modifying a rifle. Next thing, I go on a hunt for a beat to death 1905 Winchester. Instead, I ran into a gentleman with a 1910 equipped with a home brewed stock. I owned one 20 years ago but did not appreciate what I had and sold it without ever firing it. It will be going home with me in a week when I meet him in Costa Mesa. I will freely admit to being a bit warped with some of the things I do and have fun making people wonder what is going on upstairs. I look forward to learning from the forum members and stirring the pot to make people consider ideas outside of the box.

Welcome, crank. Hope you find the time you spend on this board profitable. We like stirring the pot and cooking up interesting threads about a neglected and under appreciated topic....vintage semi-automatic sporting rifles! Please do share with us pictures and information about your strange and less known firearms. We like'em too.

Crank; Dobra ootra is about it for my foreign language I also like and have had some uncommon guns but I tend to part with them. usually to get something even worse(better)...... I just bought a .401, my uncle had one 50 or more years ago. I've had a '05 made in '06 for a few years. It's been changed to .30 carbine, they shoot good out of it, but the mag is marked .35. The bbl. proofmark appears to be a correct Winchester one. I will, at some point, bite the $$ bullet and contact the Cody Museum for a letter of the record they have of it. I have some '94's and two Rem semi 30-06's a 7400 and a 74 etc.
