Am I ever glad to find you guys... I recently picked up a 1910 in need of some rather desperate TLC . I knew when I bought it that it would be a challenge to bring it back to good usable condition. I have never been shy of taking on a good challenge especially when it comes to restoring old guns. My dilemma: Sometime in its past someone welded the Marbles tang sight on it. In doing so the stock was burned beyond repair. Also its forearm is badly cracked on both sides. I would like to replace the furniture. I was able to locate a set out of Georgia but it requires an extreme amount of "fitting". Does any one know of a quality source for replacements? Thanks for your help!!! I have been able to repair the damage that was done to the metal. I could restore the forearm but matching the stock to it will be rather difficult. The gun deserves better. I would be extremely grateful for any help in locating a set. I don't mind waiting/paying for quality.

Thanks for the link. Currently it is in pieces so it will look like a total basket case. I will post pictures as soon as I can figure out how . I know I won't be able to bring it to a 100% correct "collectible"firearm again. My plan is to make it fully functional without the signs of pure neglect from its previous life. It really has a nice bright bore and sharp rifling. Since the tang sight was welded on, I will have to put a new finish on it (bluing doesn't stand up well to welding and grinding). I don't know if I can blue it to match the aged wear in the bluing on the rest of the gun. I am toying with the idea of using "Duracoat's Parker Coat" along with their "Durafill" to cover up the remaining blemishes . If you have any suggestions please let me know!

Trying the Photo bucket thing... BTW the serial number of the old girl is 15725. I tried the Duracoat 'Parker' finish on an old 22 bolt, nice finish just not what I am looking for on this one.....
