I recently was given my Grandfathers model 14 .32 remington which I am told he purchased new in 1916 for approx. $16 . I took ' him' for a walk in the woods this past deer season in N.Y. and gotta say it was a pleasure to take history into the woods. Grandpas' eyes were really bad and he put a scope on it which I understand is not good for the collector value and as you can imagine the collector value means 'zero' to me. The deer were 'thin ' this year and I did not see anything to shoot , so I look forward to having him get another deer in the years ahead . The spring in the shell feed seems very loose , is this common? Jim

Good to have you on the forum Jim. I think hunting with heirloom firearms like your Model 14 is really an experience to be savored. Kinda of connects us with loved ones who've gone on in a special way. Regards, Walt
