they actualy loosen it up and put paper or match book covers under the left or right of the base of the tang depending on which way your trying to move the bullet. then trim them up. simple but it works

that's a good suggestion for windage but my question is about elevation. does the knurled stem on the tang sight rotate to allow the peep to rise or fall? mine is frozen or jammed and i don't want to force it until i'm sure how it works. also does the peep aperture itself unscrew? i have a model 81 owners manual on order from remington but i want to get to shooting the rifle sooner. thanks again. geo.

These are the exact word off the directions i got with my marbles. To elevate or lower the stem of rear sight. first turn lower sleeve or jamb nut to the left then the upper or elevating sleeve can be turned either up or down. Press down while turning to the right or left.Otherwise the sleeve will clamp the slotted jaws of upright against the disc stem and prevent it turning freely. After the sights are adjusted to your entire satisfaction turn the jamb nut up against the elevating sleeve. this will bind the several parts together. hope this helps
