I have in my collection one of the Winchester Model 1910s shipped to Russia in 1915. Some photos are attached. To view our displays go to hotchkissguru.blogspot.com Jim Attachments:

Jim,
Where did you find this little "pearl?" As a Winchester self-loading geek, I am extemely jealous. I have looked in vain for one of these or one that went to England or France during WWI.

Below is a link to previous thread on the board about this particular rifle. I saved some photos from the listing at Joe Salter's website and posted a request for information at the time on the Gunboards WWI Miltaria forum. No one seemed to understand the meaning of the cyrillic letters nor had they seen them before. I would like to know how Herbert G. Houze attributed these markings to the JP Morgan order for Russia. Maybe they were some sort of Russian inspector's mark? No one but Houze seems to know. vintagesemiautorifle.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=win10&action=display&thread=244
