I have gotten the rifle in two parts, made a spanner wrench and go the front band, rod pusher and spring and forearm off. Now how to get the bolt out so I can clean inside the receiver. I see a rod that the spring goes over has a screwdriver slot but it only turns. Can someone help. Thanks, Riceone.

That's about as far as you want to go. Mine needed some internal care as well. Once you have the wood out of the way you can do any number of things. If you perform the regular breakdown of the rifle into the two main parts cleaning inside the receiver should be easy. Also if you cork the end of the barrel you can let it soak with some Hoppe's over night. As long as the barrel isn't chrome lined it should do a better than fair job. On the spanner, Beretta has one on the shelf of most dealers for a couple of bucks which fits both the 1907 and 1910 models. I made one before I knew this as well.

I've got a Win SL Mod 1905... It's been a long time since I've tended it. It's got me pickled! I want to break it down to clean it. I remembered the last time I figured it out... all I had to do was break it and depress the slide and turn it at the detent... and the bolt slithered out. I'm doing something wrong because there's no slithering.... Please help: dumbass

Listen to wsl49er. The only way to get the bolt out is to unscrew the Bolt Guide Rod and remove the Bolt Spring. Then the bolt will slip out through a detent in front of the receiver. However, puting it back together will prove to be a near impossible task. It will probably take two people to handle the sping (which is under great tension) and the rod. It's best to not break it down that far. It can be cleaned adequately with the bolt left in place.
