I see aftermarket ten and fifteen round extended magazines for sale all over the web and they seem to be priced very reasonably, in fact so reasonably that it makes me wonder about the quality and appearance. Anybody out there know the story on these? I am guessing the originals are near impossible to find and are worth whatever a person is willing to pay.

You know, if you can find an original 5 round 1907 .351 magazines for less than $50 you are doing very well in my book....and a 10 round magazine for less than $100. I bought an original .351 magazine about 17 years ago for $50 from Longacre's in Abilene (thought that was kinda steep at the time) and I found a really nice .401 magazine in Lubbock for $50 about 10 years ago and I snapped that sucker up! I see the same condition .401 magazines now going for $100.
The after market magazines I see are all sorry looking, spot welded things. I'm sure they work just fine. In fact I have one somewhere that I've used in the past and it works just fine, just looks ugly sticking out the bottom of a 1907. Supposed to be 10 round, but actually all I can get it to holds is some odd ball number of rounds (like 7 rounds) of .351.
If you are looking for something specific, let me know, cause I go to gun shows and see stuff every once in a while.

An original 07 magazine is truly a work of art. They are the best made, best looking mags. I've ever seen. I bought an aftermarket mag. a long time ago. It works (sometimes) and is ugly as sin. You might get lucky and get one that works well (you may have to do some work on the innards though). The mag. springs need to be really stiff or they won't work due to the very quick mechanism.

I'm looking for one original 10 round mag in decent condition (as I said I'm more of a collector than a shooter) if anyone out there knows of any for sale I'll buy it up. I can't say that I'm shocked that they are in the $100 range but I think its probably worth it. Heck, some of the vintage .351 ammo I'm seeing is close to that price, depending on the brand and condition. Thanks.

I would second 351-winchester's remarks - the factory mags are terrific - I have six of the 10-rounders and two of the 5 rounders for my two 1907s (none are for sale at this time) and they all work flawlessly. The lowest I've paid for the 10-rounders was $90 and the highest $150. They are kind of like potato chips; once you start, you can't stop.
