Hello. I recently have developed an interest in weapons used by law enforcement in the gangster era of the 30's. I recently retired from the FBI, so I have a particular interest in guns that the FBI used during the gangster era. I have recently purchased a Remington model 81 in .30 Remington caliber: and I bought a Winchester 1907 last year. These are both late serial number guns, so I know that they are not gangster era vintage--but figured I had to start somewhere ;D I also collect military surplus rifles. Steve

Welcome! It's great to have you on board. Were going to have a "Chat" session soon on this forum. Both of your guns seem to be in primo condition and I am very covetous of guns in that kind of condition. I Especially like the .30 Remington 81. Those seem to have just completely dried up around here.

Steve,
Welcome to the forum. You have two very nice rifles there. I'm also a retired LEO and find the type of firearms used within the profession an interesting study.

Thanks for the warm welcome, tnrifleman. Old law-enforcement weapons are interesting. Pity that some, like the old Colt Monitor rifle or Thompsons are not available to me in California. Well, now that I'm retired, maybe it is time to move... What agency are you retired from?

Congraqtulations on your retirement and thank you for your service. I'm dating myself, but when I was in New Agents Class 80-6, the 121st session of the NA was in session
