Good morning, I'm the legacy owner of a Model 8 Remington in .35 Remington (and frankly, these are the only autoloading hunting rifles which interest me). I moderate at another forum, levergunscommunity.com, and have the usual self-promoting/self-congratulatory blog. I was lured over here (not knowing this forum existed) by the Model 8 in Bergen, Alberta topic. Very cool.

Nice to have you Hobie. Hope you enjoy what we have here. I believe I have a picture somewhere of your Model 8 which I got off Shooting with Hobie. I thought it was a nice looking example.

that's how it always starts! Welcome to the forum. ;D It started for me a an 8-year old fondling Grandpa's (then, now mine) M8 in the upstairs hallway and dreaming of hunting my way across the U.S. to the "wild" west...

Hobie,
Welcome to the forum. My Model 8/81 addiction began a few years ago when I found an 81 in a local gun shop. I was smitten instantly. I didn't put it down until I had to pay and fill out the paperwork. BTW, there is no known cure.
