Just found this forum. I have recently purchased a model 81 Remington in .35 Remington. This looks like a good place to get information on these older guns. My interests have been in some of the older firearms of the last 90 years or so and has primarily been in German semi-auto pistols and some of the early pocket pistols. I have always been interested in firearms and have done some hunting in the distance past but now primarily I do most of my shooting at the range. I am located in eastern Va. and frequent the gunshows around the state, but have found that my best purchases have come from private individuals. I am a member of several gun forums, "The Pistol Parabellum', the 'C-96', 'THR', and others. I also have a couple of modern rifles that I shoot, I don't do any competition shooting, as the eyes are getting old and tired, but do enjoy shooting a variety of firearms. Just thought I would introduce myself and am looking forward into furthering my education of some of these great guns of the past. I feel sure that this will be a comfortable and enlightening experience! barr44

barr44,
Welcome to the forum. The Model 81 is my favorite vintage Remington rifle. They are interesting rifles and are great fun to shoot. Several of us here are dealing with old, tired eyes, so you are in good company!
