Very interesting ... they even went to the added trouble of color-casehardening the extra safety lever. Never underestimate the ingenuity (or determination) of the American gun owner! Jim

And he didn't even mention the "extra safety" on left. Do you think they think that it is normal, a "factory" safety? I have yet to use the safety on the correct side, it's not like it has a 30 round clip - so what's the point in paper punching? Of course, I do have to say that I've still never been hunting, when I of course would be using the safety.

I still like the rifle however.
Shooting an auto loader lefty can be iffy. That darn bolt handle flys back and forth right in front of your eye.
In the Marines we demanded that all marines shoot right handed. That was with the M-14; many moons ago.
However, we were also required to shoot from the wrong side too.
But when on the line, firing for score, we all had to shoot rightly.
