There is a Model 8 collector at a local gun show that wants to buy my gun. Can anyone give me an idea of value? It was manufactured in 1907. It is 30-cal. 4 digit serial number. Notwithstanding age it is in excellent condition. Shoots dead-on accurate at 100 yrds. Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

carp,
we're not experts here but we would really need pictures of your rifle to give you a semi accurate figure.

I second what 81police says. Value is dependent on condition, which is usually expressed in terms of how much original blue is left on the metal and how much original finish is left on the wood and takes into account things like dents in the barrel jacket, chips out of wood, non-original holes in the metal and wood, etc. Words can never supply as much information about condition as a simple picture is able.
