Does the presence of a period Lyman or other receiver sight, where holes were drilled in the receiver, affect value of an otherwise nicely maintained 1907? Thanks!

My personal prejudice is in favor of the presence of period installed receiver sights. I like to see them and I think they enhance the appearance and value of a gun. That being said, you have to be careful. I know I would not install a period receiver sight on a high condition old gun that didn't already have those sights on it. And a crappy sight, poorly installed on an otherwise nice gun will decrease it's value. I believe that there are people out that would disagree with me, and their opinions about what they like and believe are valid.
