Someone was asking earlier about Law Enforcement rifle magazines. Here are two compared, an early POEC model 8 and a late "Special Police" 81, both in .35 Remington, both 15 round cap.

Patent filed Oct. 8th 1934 by Newton S. Hillyard. Patent number 2,081,235. Patent issued May 25, 1937.

Thank you. That is very interesting. I think the Special Police rifles are fascinating. Do you know anything about what police agencies your guns were originally associated?

The receiver on the Special Police 81 reads

"POLICE GUN - Property of Nashville, Tenn. Police Dept."

The POEC model 8 only has the number "13" in the stock, possibly a prison gun. I don't know of a way to find out the law enforcement agency usage of POEC model 8's.

I wonder how hard it would be to make a clip like this on your own? Has anyone ever heard of someone trying to make one? Thanks for comments.
