Im an old school gun enthusiast, and since my options for "assault weapons" are, shall we say, limited in NJ, I began a search some time ago for a handy semi-auto with serious power that would fly under the radar of the gun grabbers. The 1907 cought my attention, and after some research on parts, brass, bullets and general suitability, I purchased a postwar 1907 online. While waiting for delivery, I'm in a local gunshop, and way way in the back of the last row i see something shall we say, self loading. Two somethings, actually, a very nice 1905 professionally converted to 351 win. and a 1910, both from the same consignor. $300 ea and done. Postwar 07 arrives, time to tear down, detail clean & inspect. New recoil buffers from Numrich, Wolff springs, repair cracked forearm on 1910, ebay for original mags, all now clean, lubed and correct. I hated to shell out the rediculous $$ for some vintage ammo, but i need it for test and comparison for my homerolled loads. Brass from Quality ctg, bullets from Grafs and Hawk. Out to the back 10! Whoah! Did someone say the 351 was underpowered? Not at 150 yards it isn't! Not accurate? 1.5" group 5 rounds, from the poswar rifle. The sights on the 05 conversion need changing out. The 1910, well it "hits like the hammer of Thor" allright, both on the target and my old shoulder. Won't be plinking with that much. Anyway, i think i found what i was looking for, hope to be chatting with y'all often.
