I got lucky a year ago and got a super clean 1905 in .35 that was missing a magazine, finally, I took it out and shot it this past weekend. It turns out that I can use my 1907 .351 magazines in this gun, my friend went and reduced the rims on some .38 Special brass and we loaded them up with 180gr. plated .351 bullets. The load was straight out of the book and cycled flawlessly. Accuracy was very good, considering the crummy sights and the not so great peepers looking through them. I was curious how it would shoot compared to my .32WSL 1905, because that bugger is amazing for a pretty rough gun inside and out. I can safely say, of the 1905, 1907 and 1910, the 1905 models are my favorite, because they aren't terribly heavy and they are almost graceful. Now I will quickly say that the others are solid keepers, but they are a bit chunkier and definitely not as light. The 1905 in both calibers is also the least work to fabricate brass for. I will look forward to getting more brass made up for the .35 to give it some more excercise in the future.

I just bought a 1905 at an auction this past Saturday that is in really nice shape it had the mag at the start of the auction and I bought it for 325.00 (think I made a good buy) and by the time I went to pay for it and take the gun the mag was missing. To make a long story short the auction company claimed that it was an as is auction and they weren't to blame if the mag was taken or stolen so now I have a 1905 in 35 win SL without a mag and they are as scares as hens teeth while there are after market 351 SL mags to be had. So can I take it from your post that I could get one of the 351 SL mags for my rifle and make it work? I have already made 100 cases from 38 spl brass and swag-ed down bullets to 351 and came up with a load using IMR 4227 that operates the rifle nicely but it is hard to feed the thing as a single shot LOL! I' hoping from what you've said I can get a 351 mag and make it work for me. Thanks for any info you can give me.

gelhard, Yes, a 1907 magazine will fit (I was surprised too!). I apologize for the delay replying, I haven't been able to keep up with the forum lately. I have managed to ensnare a friend of mine and he purchased a 1907 and is now working out a deal for a 1910. I amn going to look at another 1910 this weekend and need to get of my rear end and work on the 10 round prototype magazines. My only excuse has been a recent run with single shots has distracted me (Win 1885 and #3 remington Hepburn). BTW, IMR4227 seems to be the magic powder for these rifles and it works great in all of mine. LONG LIVE THE SELF LOADERS!!!!!!!
