Hi there, I got a 1910 some time ago from a family member and just recently got it up an running. I was able to build a expander plug to reform 7.62x39 cases into usable 401wsl hulls (with a little lath work) and started casting bullets for the thing. All was going well until I had a laps of concentration and had a squib load. Ya, blew up the muzzle. Now I'm looking for a replacement barrel. And it was looking like everything was going to work so well.

ndcasla, Welcome to the forum, right now, there is a barrel on GB, but it also is bulged. If the muzzle was the only area of damage, you can most likely salvage the barrel by cutting it back, if the damage keeps it over 16". The aesthetically tough part is the integral front sight base, if that area is damaged, boring it and sleeving it over the remaining barrel is no longer an option. I have been a ghost here on the forum for a while, but I will look forward to you getting the old girl back up and running.

Ya, I've been thinking about that, I was thinking about pulling the barrel, chucking it up, cut it, only about 2.5" are bad, crown it and see if maybe Marble has a barrel band type front sight I can braze on the shortened tube. But I still want it to have a full length pipe.

I can understand the desire for a full length tube, but it may be a very long wait for a donor. Did the muzzle burst and damage the front sight? If not, bore out the muzzle until it is very thin, past the rear of the front sight and then part it off. You can cut a step on the barrel to size and slide that piece back on and just soft solder it to keep the heat low. you may have to blend the junction slightly for looks, but otherwise recrown it and go back to shooting. I wish you the best of luck and hope that you can get her back on track without too much fuss.

Yes, the front end opened up like a flower and the front sight insert is now who knows where. im gonna keep checking with Numeich Arms, they list all the parts for the 1910 and say they have barrels onece in a while. But until then I'll shoot it as a carbine, if I can get it together. Andy

Hi Fellas, I am not sure this is the right spot to introduce myself, but here goes. I am 72 spent most of my life on a big ranch and have been shooting since about 9 years old. My father said: "here is a single shot .22 and I want to see a lot of dead ground squirrels". I started reloading black powder at about age 12. I took old black cartridges apart for the powder and primer (god knows what rare old shells I ruined). Molded bullets from a pot made from pipe fittings and fired wood with an old bellows. Made my own reloading tools from some old wagon parts. Anyway, bought my first Rem 81 a few years ago and flat love it. I felt that the barrel should be taken apart and cleaned up. Wow, what a job! The nut came off easy but the bushing was really stuck. To get this off without mangling the bushing was the goal. I had to make some special tools. If anybody is interested and I will explain. Anyway finally successful and I love shooting it. Well I have blabbed enough for now, later,----Beargrease

Howdy I have been around guns most of my life and worked on all of them I am retired and still working on guns. I recently ran across a Remington Model 14R carbine. In pieces I finally got it together and am down to working out the last problems.Anyway I really like those old guns but parts are hard to come by. Thanks the Oldeadeye

Hi ,new here and am in British Columbia Canada .I have a small hoard of the wsls .I have 2 1905s 32&35 ,1907s 2-351wsl and 1-in 30 carbine also a pair of 1910 s one in 401 and the other is in 44 automag . All 7 are in great order and I shoot all of them and make up my own ammo .The 1907 in 30 carbine was in poor shape and we relined it and made it a 30 carbine and the 44 auto mag was also poor so rebored it to 44 and chambered it .The conversions were a bit of a challange ,but they are great fun now . Look forwarding and learning and sharing knowledge from others ,Cheers Peter
