I have two 1907 .351. serial nos. 6166 and 17794. Both of them have a small no. 2 just behind the trigger guard. What does that mean? They both have a no.33 with a triangle with the apex pointing to the 33. The triangle has a small dash mark in it as well. These marks are inside on the left side of the trigger mechanism. What do these marks mean?
I am constantly amazed when I clean these rifles, that after 100 years, they still look new inside.

My .351, serial #20XXX has a 3 where your 2 is. Mine also has the 33 and the triangle with the dash in the same place. Some type of proof marks? Would be nice to know.

Mine SN 44XXX has a 25 with a dot underneath it almost looks like 2.5 I always assumed it was some internal Winchester assembly code or mark.
