Question and advice from all you "more-experienced" 1907 afficionados: I inherited a Model 1907 a few years back--was probably my grandfather's. Quite sure it hasn't been fired in MANY years. As best I can tell, everything seems to function normally, although it feels very "stiff" to me.
What would you all recommend that I do before I would attempt to fire the rifle? Strip and clean only? Detail disassemble and full gunsmith evaluation? Or just run a cartridge in and shoot?
Assuming I can come up with some ammo...

Strip and clean good enough. You do NOT want to completely disassemble it. It is a real pain to get the recoil spring back in place !
