Got a 1940s Model 81 in 300 Savage, have had it several years and have not shot it much. Finally got ambition enuff to load up several boxes of ammo...And took it to the range. NObody had any idea what it was...Was asked several times if it was an OLD shotgun! Anyway, I shot it a good bit...it shot well, fed well and didn't throw the brass away...ejected it all very close to My feet...a reloaders dream it is.
I have no clew as to why anybody would say that it kicked bad...It didn't. a REAL pleasure to shoot... It shot about 1" groups at 100 yards, off the bench with factory sights at 100 yards...no groups over 1.5 inches....5-shot strippers work ok if one remembers the mag holds 4 rounds...Great old rifle....
