I just purchased my first Remington Model 8 in .35 Remington. Its a little rough overall, but should make a good shooter.Has pitting on barrel jacket, receiver, tang area.Wood has no chips, but finish has some crazing to it.
Soaking everything in Kroil right now.Took barrel out of barrel jacket and cleaned off filth and some light rust near the muzzle end.Barrel needed 25 soaked patches(Montana X-treme) before the blue stopped.Rifling looks decent and no pitting.
I have always been fascinated by Browning's design genius.I think others were too, like the AK style safety, rotating bolt head, plunger style ejector.
Looking forward to learning more about these guns.Nice board!
