That is a very nice Model 8 you bought. I bet you got it for a good price, too. Your serial number indicates the gun should be from late 1931 or early 1932. The Production code may be a "Z" (for 1931) instead of an "N" (for 1922). Your buttplate is a "late steel with bottom tang". The safety lever is a late type also with the assembly screw visible. All in all... a very nice Model 8 (like I said) with many late type features. I guess they are "late features" for a Model 8. Anyway...check out the production code. It looks form the picture there are three numerals or letters in the production code. Does it have a "3" as a last digit? "3" indicates a factory repair. A nice Model 8 you can be proud of.
