Hello to all. Nice site. Proud owner of a Winchester 1910 myself. They just don't make 'em like that any more!

Nice to have you here. I really like my .401. You know, it's kind of understandable that the ol' Model 1910 is an obsolete semi-automatic firing system, but it's a crying shame that the .401 WSL cartridge couldn't be adapted to fired from some other gun. Say the "Towner" carbine...?

A, new to the fcorum, Canadian, I like ALL semiautos....have a few, but my prize is an '05 made in '06. It was 'hunting' the week before I got it (a month ago). I can't seem to find any reference to them being in .30 calibre though. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum jimp. Glad you're here. So you're saying you have a Winchester 1905 in .30 caliber?! Was it converted to .30 Carbine? I thought they only made the 1905 in .35 Winchester Self Loading and .32 Winchester Self Loading. I think .30 Carbine was developed from the .32 WSL cartridge...but the bore would be way too big for .30 Carbine without sleeving or something. I saw an advertisement years ago for a 1905 that had been converted to .218 Bee.

Hi; Dunno if it was converted or not. The only markings on the barrel are 30US [just to the left of the rear site] and the Winchester proofmark at the rear, top of the barrel, adjacent to the Win. proofmark on the receiver. The mag is marked 35 cal on the bottom. The ordinary .30 carbine ammo fit and feed aok...... According to the previous owner "it always used them shells". He didn't know where his father got it but he had it "ever since he could remember", that may be 20 years. It's a mystery to me ?? JimP
