Last year I picked up a Winchester 1907 rifle. I would like to shoot this thing and keep it shooting and wondered if there were any breakage prone parts that I should stock up on. Any weak spots? I recently found two boxes of ammo for it . Anything that I should know before I shoot it? Thanks, Steve

That one is a peach! Mine were always ragged out, brown or gray, pieces of c##p.

Thanks, Hardrada55. Got it last year through GunBroker.
I've got two boxes of ammo for it. Has anyone found a reliable, reasonably priced source for ammo? I can't even find reloading dies for .351 WSL.

calfed,
Beautiful 1907 Winchester! I haven't found anywhere that sells the .351wsl ammo at a reasonable price. I may have to reload it.

d**n! You didn't lie. Last year I got two fifty round boxes of Winchester Western .351 "Lubaloy" .351 ammo for $75 each and felt raped. Guess I got a deal!!

I would reload for it if I could find some reloading dies. I have found a place that will reload my empties. www.loadxammo.com/retailcat.pdfTheir price for loaded ammo compares favorably to Reeds

Here's a previous thread in which I compared ammunition prices, but prices may have changed since I originally posted: vintagesemiautorifle.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=shootingammo&action=display&thread=177Most of the reformed brass is made from .357 Maximum (.357 Magnum cases are just a bit too short). .351 WSL dies are made by Redding (cheapest), C&H (mid-range), and RCBS (most expensive). Of course, shop around for the best price. Remember, these use .351" bullets - Old Western Scrounger, LTD Custom, and Western Bullet Company have or had relatively cheap prices for the correct bullets. Alternatively I guess you can size down .357" bullets
