Got this one in the mail the other day. The first pic is the one supplied by the gunshop I bought it from. I was pleasently surprised that the condition was much better than their pics showed - I would reckon 90% (?), with some bluing wear to the sharp edges. The rear sight, unfortunately, is missing and there are sling swivel posts added (although very tastefully and well done). Serial number puts it as 1913 production (Henwood) Hope my pics aren't too big.

great lookin rifle canuck, nice sharp cheeks too. A period rear sight blank would really complete the package. Love the early pistol grips too, you did good!

Thanks for the big pics, at least for me - I like seeing the details. Great looking shooter.

Question: I recently inherited a Remington Model 8 .35 from my grandfather’s estate. He was an avid hunter/ game warden so he had a scope mount installed on the rifle. My question is: where do I find the serial number? The only numbers I can see are .35 and a faded #7 in front of the magazine assembly.

I'd like to see pictures of your gun if possible. You may have serial number 7! There are some early features that should be present on such an early gun.

"a faded #7 in front of the magazine assembly" That is where you would find the gun's serial number (below is a poor pic of the S # on the gun that started this thread) Please post pics of your rifle if possible, as said, #7 would be quite a find!!
