Just curious... I'm in the process of buying an 81 in .300 savage. The gun is in perfect shape, especially for it's age on the outside. While i have inspected the mechanism, I have not had the ability to check the barrel. I do however know that the guy who owned it was anal about his guns and had used it in the past.
I agreed after some limited research online (gunbroker.com) to pay her $450 for the gun. I'm forced to wonder after reading some of the prices here if I screwed myself. What do you all think, did I botch it or get a decent price?
The only background on the gun I have is that the guy who owned it died and his widow is selling off all his rifles (to her credit she kept the Colt 1911 and the Ruger bisley .45 revolver).
