I went in there and they had more of these than I had ever seen in one place. I guess a collector in the area died and they are selling all of them, They were each marked at $495 Just a heads up for you all

Where is this gold mine located? Do you have a phone number or email address. Some of us might start a rush on the place and clean them out if they are desirable. No 8 or 81 deserves to be stuck in a shop somewhere, they all need good home. Thanks for any info you may have.

I found the Castro Valley Gun Shop by using Google. There isn't any listing of guns for sale (yet) but their address and phone number is listed. Man, I wish they were in Tennessee!

I think Helm's House of Guns in Santa Rosa still has a model 81 for $350, if I could justify buying a second one during snowboarding season I would. By the way I'm taking my model 81 to the range tomorrow for the first time, should be a hoot.

Man, for decades Model 8's and 81's were very cheap. I paid $150 for my 30 Rem 81 about a decade ago.
They were quite popular when they first came out. Of course Frank Hammer used a model 8. I think his was a .25.
They used to make stripper clips form them. Anyone know how to get one?
Mine shoots fine. I reload for it using a Lee Loader in 30/30 Win. Same as the 30 Rem, except for the rim.

safety first....... ;D the early Remington advertisers would be proud, it was a rule when displaying them in ads to have the safety on very few ads or pictures have the saftey off......
