I posted this on another gun forum I frequent (canadiangunnutz.com) and got a lot of interest - thought you guys may find it interesting as well. So I picked up an old Winchester (Model 1907) a few months back. It was pretty rough - covered in a fine film of rust and absolutely filthy inside. I finally got around to trying to clean it up this weekend and after removing the buttpad to get at the stock screw, found this. I know some of you have come across this in the past, but this is a first for me - I thought it was kinda cool!

Blast from the Past! I always look. My dad has done this with a lot of his guns, in case they were stolen. Neat stuff. I haven't found anything yet, though.
