I stumbled on a reference to this forum on another and am I glad!! I am just getting back into guns after many years because I inherited my father's .35 mod.81 and the family win. mod 52 target rifle (vintage 1920's I think). I'm looking forward to learning about these old semis as I only had one occasion to shoot it 30 years ago. Again, great to be here!

Welcome to the forum! And welcome back into guns, especially the Remington Model 8 and 81. I hope you get to go down to Wallyworld and pick up a box of .35 Remington to shoot in that 81. If you get a chance, post some pictures. Great to have you here. I'm positive you'll find a friendly and knowledgeable group here with which to talk.

massrog39,
Welcome to THE forum for the grand old Remington Model 8 and 81 rifles. We also discuss other vintage firearms, but the 8 & 81 are dear to our hearts. You inherited some fine firearms. The Winchester Model 52 Target is one of the finest .22 rifles ever made. It is great to read of someone getting back into firearms.

Likewise, welcome to the forum, and welcome back into guns!
Your Remington 81 and Winchester 52 are both fine guns in their own right. Enjoy them both! Jim
