Hi all, just got pointed to this forum and already it feels like home I have a small collection of Winchesters including M1903, M1905 and M1910 I am scurrying around trying to gather resources to reload the mighty 401 at the moment. What fun!

Thanks 81, what are most of the guys here (if not Winchester)? I also have Ruger, Remington, Lithgow L1A1 and Norinco semi automatic rifles (which I use for sporting purposes;-)

wazza2222,
Welcome to the forum. There is a great group of guys here.
Before my retirement as an LEO, I worked with an L1A1 for a few years. It is quite a rifle. The one I had was owned by the department and was a select fire weapon.

Keep me posted on your trek towards being able to reload the mighty, "Thumper". I'm on the same road as you.

Tnrifleman, we are not allowed select fire weapons in New Zealand unless they are on a seperate collectors licence (and may NOT be fired) so the L1A2 is a rare bird here! I have just scored a Trilux sight for mine and she is a beauty:-)
Hardrada55, I am so close I can taste it! I had a problem with Dillon not being able to supply adaptors for my 550B so I bought an old Lyman single stage press and a Lee shell holder to suit. I have Bertram brass and swaged .41 Magnum projectiles until such time as can locate the correct Lyman moulds to cast the real thing. CH4 made me a set of reloading dies and a swaging/sizing die to suit. I am close, real close:-) Waz

Sorry Martin, Australia is a bit of a closed shop and very little info gets out to us here in New Zealand. They have a very repressive firearms regime there now and it is a sad place to live if you love guns. I personally know nothing about Rem 14.5's and have never seen one.
