I mentioned earlier that the receiver's are marked with several proof's as common by Fabrique Nationale. The bottom proof, "P.V." below a lion is the Nitro Proof, the scepter is the View Proof, and the "M" with a star above it is not a proof but rather the inspector's mark. All three of these can be found in several places on an FN 1900. The receiver will always have them (location varies). Also, pictured below, the bolt carrier and the bolt body share these marks. A caliber marking is absent on the rifle, neither the barrel jacket head nor the barrel extension have markings. As can be seen the extractor too is unmarked. **sorry about the pictures, I was taking these indoors and the colors are slightly distorted** For reference, correct FN 1900 sling swivels

Hey 81, do you have pics of the operating handle? I actually own 2 1900's and have yet to see either one in person. I've heard that it is different from our 8's in that it screws into place instead of having a spring loaded pin. The one I bought from Canada is still tied up in Customs and the one that Pack made the video with is still in TX at Anderson's. Scotty is not quite done with it. I think the one Scott has is missing a portion of the handle, the one from Canada appears to have all of it's pieces. If I could get a good picture to Scott, perhaps he could machine one for me. Post them if you have any. Once I have mine in hand, I post pics of both. One is the old style with no rib, the other is newer with the solid rib. Both are checkered, neither are engraved.

Pete, Happy birthday first! Here's a set of 3 different FN charging handles. The nice one on the far left I have tried to remove its bushing so that I may have it machined and duplicated. After 48 hours of penetrating oil and using a special tool, no budge. It's still a current project and it does have a spring loaded plunger in the middle. The middle charging handle is from Canuck's rifle from a picture he posted (thanks Canuck hope you don't mind). The far right charging handle is actually your own rifle Pete. I took this picture before the auction ended. All three differ quite a bit and it appears your rifle is not threaded for an operating handle bushing at all but I dont know that for sure. The picture below is what the picture above left would look like without it's operating handle bushing.

Thanks for the B-Day wishes. Had a pretty good day overall. Forgot that you had made the video with Pack. It looks like mine isn't missing anything, just a different design. My other one has the type on the left that you are still trying to take apart. Thats a later gun with a serial number up around 4500. Got to be one of the last they made. We'll see as I don't have that one yet either. Thanks for the pics.

Not at all - glad you could make great use of it! I'm actually quite surprised that you were able to get that out of the pic I posted - I'm only using a cheap, 2 mp camera! If there are any other pics of my gun that would be helpful, don't hesitate to ask. 2verpsters - Happy (belated) Birthday from me as well (sorry, didn't get you anything ) - very unfortunate to hear your 1900 is still tied up in customs - its been quite some time has it not? Can anyone tell you why? I didn't realize there would trouble importing to your country as it is a fairly strait-forward process going the other direction (except for military goods) - all it takes is $$ and a good shipper (right Noel ) If for some reason you end up not able to import it - I know an appreciative fellow who would be happy to provide it a loving home!! (considering I missed buying it from Accuracy Plus by only a couple days )

Canuck, it has been a really long time. I had it shipped to my Uncle in Paris, ON figuring that he could bring it across to me the next time he came to hunt. They told him he could, as long as he brought it back. Then, I found a broker to do the deal with in Rochester, NY but the Feds changed the rules again recently and he did not have all the correct licenses. Finally found another down in the NYC area believe it or not who had all the right stuff. He actually just called me today to tell me he had the gun in his possesion and i could come get it or he could ship it to my FFL dealer anytime. I'll let you guys know when I get it. Hopefully I'm glad you missed it up to Accuracy Plus after all this time. It's supposed to be a really nice example. I'll post a bunch of pics when I get it.

Finally, I have this one in my hands. It is a very nice example, probably in the 85 to 90% range. Has some scratches on the bottom of the mag and along one side of the barrel near the front sight. Probably from how it was stored in a vehicle or something as it appears that movement over a period of time marred the surfaces. Otherwise, it is near perfect. I will post pics soon, but am very pleased now that I finally have it.
