iaaforum.org/forum3/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=17375New Russian cartridge which might be adaptable to Winchester SLRs. Maybe 1910 .401 replacement? Or is it too powerful? 231 (15g) bullet at 615mps (approx 2000 fps). Case is 37.5mm long, maybe the overall length is too long? Maybe it needs to be loaded "down" to a lower velocity to work properly.

well don't that beat all ? There is no shoulder but the case is tapered so it should function in a 1910. I was pondering something similar with a 375 hndy 220 gr flat nose . I was thinking of using it in a ruger mini 30 ,but my cartridge case with the bullet seated to 7.62 x 39 length bound in the mags but seated to cannalure with the 1910 mag no problem and will cycle through the 1910 until the case is too wide above the rim I did not do too much other than make up some dummies so no idea of powder charge ,was more of a whim here is some pics of the mock ups with the parent 762x39 ,a 401 on the x39 case and 375 on the x39 case and in the mags Cheers Peter

I think a .401 or .375x39 in a Mini-30 would be a wonderful gun to have...if you could make it work.
