Hey guys! Just signed up since i came across this forum about 2 weeks ago when i was searching the net for information about the model 14 1/2. Since im Australian, i saw one go through usedguns.com.au a website at to which i work for. I missed out on picking one up for 500 because i did not know much information back then. Now, its a whole new ball game, ive acquired one in somewhat "fair" condition and am busting at the seams to fix her up and bring it back to working order. i know the quality of the photo is somewhat dismal but please hold out for the next coming weeks as ill be updating this thread with progression photos. Some advice that id like from you guys is what do you think 44-40 is good for, i plan to go for pigs and sometimes fallow deer after she is all fixed up, my dealer is sending it through within the coming week.

Hey guys me again, everything is fixed and she shoots quite well! only one problem though, she does not seem to feed well into the chamber. I.e it wont angle the round up properly to feed into the chamber and when it does, it hits the mouth of the chamber. Ive tried everything but cannot seem to know what the issue is, would any of you fellas have an idea?

G'day brotherkorn With regard to the feeding problem you may be best to post on the following Remington Collectors Society forum, there is a Remington Model 14 1/2 gunsmith who posts on this forum. www.remingtonsociety.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=3&sid=4a01ae9337e95e4d5be63e024e99aaf6Does your rifle have a faint marking at the breech of a pair of crossed pennants and the letters D C P? If so it is one of 4,000 examples purchased by the British Admiralty in WW1 for use on trawlers and other miscellaneous craft as protection against mines and German E boats. What is the serial number of your rifle? Regards AlanD Sydney
