Below are a couple of photos of an unusual Model G. Certainly not a factory modification. Has anyone seen a similar modification, and if so, any clues as to who did it? Note that the pump option has been eliminated and with the gas off it operates more like a straight-pull bolt system.

That modification is very interesting. I wonder if the bolt opening system on the right side impinged on the magazine capacity?

I've never seen one like that before, very unusual indeed. Would be nice to see it all upclose.

I am currently trying to buy this rifle. If I am successful I will take some close-ups of the modified action and post them.

There has been mention that SA's made several experimental guns. It would be great to find it noted in the company records. As always the serial number would be appreciated. Ed

I have one that is checkered but it clearly was done by someone later. I do not remember it bieng an option upgrade but its possible. Were they both together. Did you record the serial numbers
