Looking to replace a .30 Rem Model G that was my grandfather's and was stolen from me about 9 yrs ago. Not much for sale now but what little there is seems to be priced way higher than the Blue Book of Gun Prices numbers. I am brand new to the forum and would appreciate any comments on the current values/prices of the Model G's. Thanks.

Any idea of the serial number, 30 G's are the most common

Standard Arms only made a total of 3700. They are pretty rare, Blue book bases thier prices on auctions and what a few specific dealers do. The blue book is way off from what the market goes for. A well used M or a decent G will sell from 350 to 800. The public though the M was more dependable, because of this they were well used so to find one in better condition commands a premium price. Model G's in poor condition are usually the 350 to 450 range. I have seen really nice examples sell for up to 1500. Last week there were two differant G's on Gunbroker.com.
