Semi-automatics have been my favorites since I got my first .22, a J.C. Higgins made by High Standard in the 50's. I've been shooting a Remington 742 in .308 since the early 60s, a legacy from a great uncle. I have a Winchester 190 and a BAR in .243, both made in the 70's. My Winchester 1905 and 1910 are recent acquisitions. The 742 is old enough to join AARP and will soon qualify for Social Security. The Winchester 190, as an orphan probably would merit survivorship benefits. A Winchester 100 could be nice, but the ones I see at gun shows are either too ragged or too pricey. All of the above seem 'vintage' in some sense. Do they rate a place here?

Sure do! I would love to have one of the older Winchester Model 100s or a Remington 760 type pump action rifle in .35 Whelen and I'm sure the "Discuss Other Guns We Like" section of the forum would be the place to talk about those type of rifles.
