Nice looking little carbine, It's sure worth finding a spot in the safe for it. Its nice to get lucky every once in a while. 14delta(Bill)

Don't get jealous yet boys. The bore is looking mighty rough. Throat, and grooves may be pitted. It is so grimy in there I hate to sound pesimistic but I am not holding my breath. Hope I have some loaded ammo around. The loading gear is all packed away while the basement is developed. I want to shoot this gun!

Finally a turn in your gun luck. Great find Noel. Don't give up on that bore until you have used JB bore compound on it. Have you found it up there? Even if you have pitting it may shoot well if the crown and throat are in good shape. Dave

Hey Dave! Crown is good, throat not so much. But who knows, I'll try some shorter round nose bullets that will stabilize easier than a long spire point. Hope that gives it a best chance to shoot straight.
Still haven't located any JB up here.

Talked with Jason on the rifle a bit more. He bought it at a gun sale in BC, 1971. Shot it a bit at targets only and it was not a good shooter. The next 38 years it just sat around as an old keepsake with his antique collection. He paid $300 for it then too and knows he gave me a good deal on the condition I take good care of it. No worries there.
Thanks for the link Dave, I will have to get some of that stuff. Noel

JB and Kroil took the copper fouling out of my model 14 better than any of the liquids I tried. If you think your bore is clean run a patch with bore compound on it and look out for the black crud. When the patches come out clean no other cleaner will bring out any residue. I do not use it routinely but with a new to me old gun it is the first cleaner I reach for. Dave

Plus one on the Kroil. It is great stuff and the JB is quite useful at times too.
Supersporter, great find on the 1895 carbine. I hope you get her up-and-running soon.

Had her running alright but it is not good. Bullets keyhole at 28ft, recovered bullets have no discernable rifling. Bummer. No amount of anything except a boring tool will help this one. Hope to find another barrel.
