i have a project going, a month ago i bought a rem. 14 in 30 rem. from a pawn shop. it had no blueing on it but the gun was tight. i could see under crude on the stock it had a nice piece of wood. the barrel had crude in it and i could not tell how the rifling was but i took a chance and bought it. when i got it home i cleaned the barrel and the bore was perfect! i loaded three rounds with 30-30 dies, i already had brass for my 32 model 8. it functioned fine, so i striped it all the way down and took it to a shop and had the barrel cut to18 1/2 in. and the barrel dovetailed for a front sight and they are rebluing it tomarrow. all numbers match except for the stock, i wonder what grade rifle it came off. i will post photos when i get it back together. i striped the wood with a wood stripper and buffed with 600 grit and finished with truoil.my rear sight might be worth what i paid for the gun, it is an original wheel sight. i paid 175.00 for the gun.

Great deal! I'm looking for one for my boy to hunt with this year. They're getting harder to find.
