Just picked up a cool old pistol from the same dealer I got a model 14 in 25 Rem. I had an old Winchester on layaway and was going to pick it up but they had just gotten in a shipment of used guns and I spotted the old Colt. I was going to put it back as I was saving my cash for a S&W 52-2 that would be available soon but the dealer offered to give me my choice of the layaway or the pistol, so I chose the pistol since I have plently of old Winchesters. Will post pics asap.

I really like the old 1903 Hammer .38s. I've been trying to find a nice one that wouldn't break the bank for years. Even got a box of Mexican made .38 ACP Aquila ammo for it!

Yes, they can be expensive as with any decent old Colt. I had to give $525.00 for mine but happy to do it since most guys around here start them at about $1000.00, and I have only seen a couple. I picked up some dies at a gunshow, Hornady Titanium Nitride for $10.00 and 200 brass (38 Super headstamp but same dimensionally) for $15.00 and I have 500 cast 9mm round nose bullets that I never loaded which should work great in the old pistola.
