Well, I've never seen anything like that ever....super interesting. Any clues on it as to country of origin? Has the look of a prototype to it. I guess mainly because of the receiver left in the white. Caliber?

It's a Ross MkIII Homeguard rifle that has been converted to semi-auto. The owner believes it was done at the Ross plant - as a prototype. I am very doubtful.

Oh, and the caliber is .303 British. And Ross rifles were made in Canada - much of this rifle was made in Canada, but as I stated, I don't think all of it.

I thought that magazine looked vaguely familiar.

it looks like it's got a magazine side spring similar to a Model 8. Very homemade looking but fascinating.
