I have a model 81 with a Williams peep sight that came with the gun when I bought the gun 19 yrs ago from a friend. Don't know if they still make the sight, but you can inquire @ Williams Gun Sight in Davison, Michigan. Good luck Rex

deerhide: I ripped 5 'at the moon' last night out of my 1905 (dom1906). I don't have to worry about finding ammo; sometime in the past it was re-barreled from .35Win.(on the bottom of the mag) to .30 Carbine. I got the Cody letter....no mention of a new bbl. Jim

blackbahart: the only thing scary about the model 81 in 300 savage is $58 a box of ammo ,otherwise mine seems to work fine
