I have a Marbles tang on my 8 and tried using it for hunting this fall. To be honest I did not enjoy using it at all! With the aperture in it was too dark for me to aim in the timber, even in good light. With the disk removed there was a dramatic improvement in seeing inthe timber but there I could not quickly line up the sights for the fuzzy peep. Without spending a big sum on a bunch of disks I'll never use later, what size should I try.
On paper, the little aperture is great. I have 20-10 vision with my glasses on so this should be doable.
I lost a buck this fall, the first one in 18 years of hunting and I don't care to do that again.

When hunting, I unscrew the eye piece from my peep sights. That makes the ring a "ghost ring". While it's hard to see, your brain still sees it and you'll center the front sight. You want fast sighting, and a large opening in the rear sight helps to do that.
