Please post pics of game harvested with your Model 8 or 81. Smallish 'eating size' hog I killed several years (and pounds ago). I was in better shape then. The Model 8 in 35 Remington is still in as good of shape as the picture.

great idea 35rem! 215lb boar killed off Stasney's Cook Ranch with a 1950 Remington 81 in .300Sav. Williams SM mount and Weaver KV scope. About a 75 yard shot using factory Remington 180gr SP, the hog went straight down never took a step, game over

Nice hog pics guys, and is that snow in Texas? Here in Oregon there are no hogs, but 150 miles south in the home territory of imfuncity (Mitch), there is some good hog hunting I think I will hit hard in the spring.

haha, yeah kirk it actually just happened to be like one of those 3 days a year it snows in texas, made for a cool picture. Luckily too about an hour after that picture was taken the snow was gone!

Range was about the same for mine, 75 yards. hit him high, in the spine with the 150 gr Remingtons (35 Rem), took out 3 vertebrae, I think. Put him down, but required a finishing shot. Weighed around 80 pounds. Bet mine tasted better! (just kidding)
