I have been getting stupid on gun buy's lately, but I have a hard time passing up good deals. Got a 100% original 1898 Krag Jorgensen rifle in awesome condition...$450.00 isn't dirt cheap but I have recently sold two nice sporters, one for $375.00 and the second for $475.00 and I still had all the ammo, dies and brass, but no rifle to shoot them. I see these in the $800 to $1200 range at times and was happy to get it from a guy who has had it in his attic for 50 years literally. He bought it for a whopping $1.50 back in the day. I also got a Marlin 336 in an interesting caliber, 356 Winchester....I got it for $350.00 and promptly got and offer of $1000.00 for it from a guy on the Marlin sight. Apparently there were only 2441 made in 1983 due to lack of popularity and suddenly now every Marlin collector wants one. If anyone has experience with this cartridge I am intrigued with a new .35 to play with. Mine came from the Grits Gresham collection with a certificate of authenticity. Also love Pre '73 Ruger single action revolvers and have been wanting a Single Six lately and picked up a 3 screw flattop for $150.00. It has a little holster wear, but since I plan on shooting the heck out of it, it is perfect. This after buying a 336 A-DL and a 410 shotgun last week!!! Anyone else taking advantage of any good buy's lately??

Wow, that is quite a list of nice firearms. The Krag is a wonderful bolt gun. A friend has a really clean one that I'd love to get, but he isn't inclined to sell the old girl. You got a great deal! The 356 Marlin has become quite a cult cartridge lately. Sadly, it wasn't widely appreciated when first produced, but savvy hunters soon learned that the 356 is a real thumper in the Marlin lever gun. The fact that yours belonged to Grits Gresham is a real plus in my book. He was a great gun writer, and I hear, also a stand-up guy. I'd sure cherish that one! The Ruger ought to be a great trail gun. I love my pre-'73 Single Six. One thing for sure, we won't wear one out, even by shooting the heck out of it!
I haven't bought much lately. However, I did pick up a clean Ruger Model 96 lever gun in 44 Magnum a few weeks ago. I am a fan of traditional lever guns (Marlins and Winchesters) but the little Ruger carbine is an interesting diversion.

I am jealous of your 96 carbine. I have been looking for a reasonable deal on some kind of a Ruger carbine rifle but can't seem to find one. I came close to buying a #3 in 22 Hornet, but it was $700.00 and seemed a tad overpriced, so I passed. Now you got me wanting a 96 to go with my old Super Blackhawk. I know imfuncity aquired the semiauto version of the Ruger 44 carbine, some time back and that one sounds fun too.
